VDMA & solarpeq: Cooperation between VDMA Photovoltaic Equipment and Messe Düsseldorf

The Glass Technology forum within VDMA has been one of the three supporting associations for 40 years, the two others being the Federal Association of Glazier Trades and the Federal Association of the German Glass Industry.

This demonstrates that we have the necessary acceptance of the industry for a successful launch of solarpeq," states Hans Werner Reinhard, Managing Director, glasstec and solarpeq at Messe Düsseldorf.

VDMA-PV is counselling Messe Düsseldorf on the positioning and execution of solarpeq, particularly in regard to content coordination and marketing issues.

glasstec and solarpeq 2010 take place from 28 September to 1 October at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre. This unique combination enables new synergies to emerge between the glass and solar industries. In this way, new sales opportunities become available for the glass industry, as well as innovative possible applications for solar products, while the solar industry benefits from the glass specialists' know-how, for example in regard to functional glass, finishing technologies or production automation. A combined total of approximately 1,260 exhibitors will show their innovations on roughly 63,000 square metres of sold exhibition space at glasstec and solarpeq. Of these exhibitors, 1,200 companies are exhibiting at glasstec. 160 companies have registered for solarpeq, including the exhibitors who are showing their ranges at both trade fairs. According to trade fair Project Director Birgit Horn, "We are expecting exhibitors and visitors from more than 90 countries, making us unique among the world's glass and solar technology trade fairs."

The two trade fairs will occupy exhibition halls 9 to 17 at the Düsseldorf fairgrounds. Hall 14 is the heart of solarpeq, although companies with solar production technology know-how will also be present in all other exhibition areas. A special visitor guidance system for parties interested in solarpeq ensures transparency and direct routes to the suppliers.
