At AIA25 in Boston, three new leaders were elected to the AIA Board of Directors, with their terms set to begin on December 5, 2025.

Three new leaders have been elected to The American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Board of Directors, to serve terms beginning on December 5, 2025.

AIA delegates elected:
•    Yiselle Santos Rivera, AIA, 2026 President-elect/2027 President;
•    Jason Takeuchi, AIA, as 2026 – 2028 At-Large Director;
•    Lisa L. Kennedy, FAIA, as 2026–2027 Treasurer.

Yiselle Santos Rivera, AIA, is the Founder and CEO of Washington, D.C. based YSR, LLC. Santos Rivera created Women Inspiring Emerging Leaders in Design (WIELD), has served on the Equity and the Future of Architecture Committee and the AIA COVID-19 Response Committee.  She is a recipient of the 2022 Young Architects award.  Santos Rivera earned a Master of Architecture from Syracuse University.  

Jason Takeuchi, AIA, is an Associate at Ferraro Choi and Associates in Honolulu, Hawaii. Takeuchi has served as the Chair of the Young Architects Forum and received the AIA Young Architect award in 2023. He received a Doctor of Architecture degree from the University of Hawaii School of Architecture.

Lisa L. Kennedy, FAIA, practiced architecture for over 30 years before being selected as the Executive Director of AIA Wisconsin. Kennedy served as the President of the Wisconsin Society of Architects (now AIA Wisconsin) in 1994 and was the youngest person and first woman to serve in that capacity. She received a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and a Master of Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
