The Hungarian national master fitter competition took place on 11 September in retro surroundings: the former Ikarus Bus manufacturing plant.

This venue and about 130 visitors created the right atmosphere to cheer Tibor Szabó, who became the Hungarian ‘hero’.
 
The organizing committee arranged a theoretical test to select the 10 finalists out of 13 competitors. The results of this system had also to be used at the end of the event to force an ex aequo decision of the numbers 1 and 2. Based on this, Mr Szabó will now defend his home country during the The International Master Fitter Competition 2010 during glasstec in Düsseldorf, Germany.
 
The judges were guided by Gergely Igazvölgyi who represented Hungary as a competitor successfully during the international event in 2008.
