Tanaka on glasstec 2014

Date: 3 September 2014

Tanaka Kikinzoku Kogyo K.K. “Tanaka Precious Metals” (TANAKA) will exhibit at this year’s glasstec 2014; INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR FOR GLASS PRODUCTION, PROCESSING, PRODUCTS, the world’s largest exhibit and trade fair for glass industries, to be held October 21-24 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

TANAKA’s platinum technologies have good reputation fromJapandomestic and Asian glass industries such as TFT sheet glass, optical lens, etc. and in this time, visitors of TANAKA’s booth will be able to view the same.Contents of Exhibit at the glasstec 2014(HALL 11, STAND H74):1. nanoplat™ Series O.D.S.Material Technology

New Oxide-Dispersion-Strengthened (O.D.S.) Pt and Pt-alloy materials ”nanoplat™Pt”, “nanoplat™R”, “nanoplat™BP”, “nanoplat™BPR” and “nanoplat™PtAu5” are developed and now ready to introduce to market. Characteristics of these materials such as excellent creep strength at high temperature and grain growth control, which are key factors to extend life of glass melting equipment, are achieved by decreasing particle size of oxide (ZrO2) and optimizing process conditions.

2. Computer Aided Fluid and Structural Calculations

We can support customer’s improvement of their platinum equipment by making use of computer aided fluid and structural calculation technology. For example, with having customer’s data for glass composition and melting conditions, we can simulate ideal shape of stirrer vanes to improve stirring effectiveness and its life.

3. ZrO2 Coating

TANAKA offers ZrO2 coating technology to minimize platinum volatilization under high temperature operation.

4. Platinum Laboratory Tools

Another exhibit is platinum laboratory tools like small crucibles, evaporating dishes and bead dishes, which are necessary for R&D or QA departments. Customers who need long-lasting and low wettability tools can choice nanoplat™PtAu5.

5. Bushings for Glass Fibre Fabrication

Also, TANAKA offer bushings for glass fibre fabrication. Thanks to extreme undeformable characteristics of nanoplat™BPR; O.D.S. PtRh alloy strongest type material, customers can increase manufacturing yield of their products by keeping stable fibre forming.
