Since 1st February 2002, Svecia Screen Printing AB has been for sale. Production has continued at the Norsborg plant during this period and several offers have been evaluated from potential new investors.

Evaluating these bids has taken far longer than could have been anticipated which meant that until now the future for Svecia had been rather unclear in the market place, hopefully for all interested parties we can now clarify that situation. This month (April) sees the dawn of an exciting new era for the screen-printing industry with the launch of Svecia Engineering; an innovative company dedicated to researching, developing and manufacturing highly sophisticated presses and associated technology.

Svecia Engineering has already recruited a number of top-flight personnel to ensure that the company succeeds in its aim to produce quality machinery, controlling logistics and establishing first class relationships with new and existing Svecia customers all over the world.

Svecia Screen Printing AB owns major assets, technical know-how and world leading products within the field of screen-print machinery. Since last year several major development projects have been close to their finalisation with a big potential on the market. In parallel to this, a huge interest and entrepreneurial spirit existed amongst the staff of Svecia Screen Printing AB to continue and finalise these exciting projects within a new structure. With this background it is therefore very satisfying to announce that Svecia Engineering has been created and has purchased all the assets of the old company. The new company will transform Svecia from a purely production orientated company to a ‘knowledge intensive’ company in order to further develop its unique core business within screen-printing and its applications. The name Svecia Engineering emphasises this direction with the main focus on further developing the unique product portfolio, and most importantly to establish good relationships with its customer's world-wide.

Leading this team is Peter Edman. Mr Peter Edman is the Managing Director of Svecia Engineering, and joins with a vast experience from the manufacturing industry. He has, amongst other things, worked with industrial operation and business control issues within Electrolux and also within the electronics industry. Peter states “We will have to work hard to prove ourselves as market leaders, however, I am sure that we have on board many of the skilled dedicated people we will need to achieve these goals and to create the true entrepreneurial atmosphere we are aiming for.”
