Long-standing Spectus fabricator, EYG Commercial, have recently completed a new build affordable living rental project with Hull City Council.

The contract involved the installation of 40 casement windows and 14 composite doors in seven new two-bedroom bungalows built to the Lifetime Homes Standard.

The seven new bungalows have been built on land in Shannon Road, Longhill and have been designed to provide flexible living space for carers to stay at the bungalows and provide long term care to older tenants. The contract to manufacture and install the windows and doors was secured by EYG Commercial who held all the necessary credentials for the project and commercial expertise.

This new project needed a modern contemporary look to its window and door products. As such the 30 casements windows were manufactured in anthracite grey on white using the popular Spectus Elite 70 window system.

Nicola Arnott, Marketing Manager of EYG Commercial said: “We have partnered with Spectus for many years and the quality of the Elite 70 system ticks all the boxes for us in terms of quality, commercial-acceptance and flexibility. We were awarded the contract as not only do we offer the commercial credentials required for the job, but our products are both PAS24 and Secure by Design compliant as standard which was the winning factor for the contactor.”

The EYG Commercial installation team completed the six month project on time and are justifiably proud of the finished result.

Nicola comments: “We work hard to ensure that every job runs smoothly and this was no exception. But successfully completing a job of this type on time and on budget is always something to celebrate. The anthracite grey on white windows offer a modern, contemporary feel to the bungalows and we are delighted they chose this colour option. It was a worthwhile project to undertake and a huge team effort by all parties to ensure the bungalows were completed to the exacting standards on time.”

A project of this type demands superior products and a first-class installation approach if it is to be completed successfully and offer long term benefits. The combination of Spectus’ Elite 70 products and EYG Commercial’s expertise ensured both of these have been achieved.
