SmartGlass provides intelligent office partitioning for Elm Park, Dublin

Date: 22 March 2011

Leading manufacturer of electronically switchable glass, SmartGlass International, has provided bespoke LC SmartGlass for an exclusive commercial office suite at Elm Park, Dublin.

A total of ten LC SmartGlass panels were used to fulfil the design specification of creating a state of the art boardroom within a spacious office workplace.

The use of LC SmartGlass for the boardroom partitioning allows instant privacy at the flick of a switch. Using a minute electrical current, users can immediately change the glass from clear to opaque and vice versa. This gives staff the option to turn the glass off to provide privacy when boardroom meetings are in process.

LC SmartGlass was chosen over traditional partitioning materials as it gives a sleek, modern look that is aesthetically pleasing. This ties in well with the sophisticated style of this environmentally integrated office unit with fantastic views over Dublin Bay.

SmartGlass International specialises in the commercial, hospitality and healthcare sectors providing switchable glass solutions to an extensive range of projects around the world.

Its innovative products consist of LC SmartGlass™ and SPD-SmartGlass™. Its product range has been developed to meet the needs of specialist markets such as commercial, hospitality, healthcare, marine, aviation and security and industrial and exhibition sectors. It has many uses from partition screens, windows, roof-lights and doors, projection screens, security & teller screens.

LC SmartGlass is used for privacy purposes allowing instant privacy at the flick of a switch.  Using a minute electrical current, users can immediately switch from clear to opaque and vice versa. SPD-SmartGlass can be manually or automatically “tuned” to precisely control the amount of light, glare and heat passing through. Both products add value and increase flexibility in the design of buildings.

SmartGlass International has won awards for its innovative approach in the provision of building materials.
