As of mid-January 2012, Saint-Gobain Glass Romania underwent a leadership change as French national Jérôme Lionet (photo) was appointed general manager of the Calarasi - based glass producer.

Saint-Gobain runs truly global operations and this is obvious in terms of management executives as well.

Saint-Gobain Glass Romania’s first GM was French; he was replaced by my predecessor, who was Romanian, and now French replaced him,” said Lionet. Jerome Lionet, 39 years old, graduated from Ecole Polytechnique, and then Ecole Nationale Superieure des Mines from Paris.

The new Saint-Gobain Glass Romania GM spent the last eight years in emerging markets in the region, working for various Saint-Gobain companies and development projects. His various assignments within the Group took him from Poland to Russia and from the Middle East and North Africa to Turkey, Romania and other CE countries.
