A total of 200 participating countries will present their scientific and technical innovations to the one hundred million or so visitors expected from around the world.
For example, 100,000 square meters of SHEERFILL® architectural membrane from Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics (Innovative Materials) cover the one kilometer long main thoroughfare, Expo Boulevard. Weber, Gyproc and Isover products (Construction Products), along with others from Saint-Gobain Glass and Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics (Innovative Materials) were also used in the construction of the Rhône-Alpes Pavilion (France), located in the heart of the Expo’s “Best Urban Practices” area, presenting sustainable development innovations for the habitat sector.

The Saint-Gobain Glass and Weber brands sponsored the Shanghai Eco-Home Pavilion, also located in the “Best Urban Practices” area. Saint-Gobain Glass China supplied 1,000 square meters of double-glazing, and Saint-Gobain Weber 200 square meters of façade render. Saint-Gobain Weber delivered 2,500 square meters of ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems) for the façades of the Switzerland Pavilion, and external insulation products for the Netherlands and Finland pavilions as well as the Expo Center buildings.
Almost 190,000 square meters of Gyproc plasterboard have been installed in the expo buildings, such as the Theme pavilions and the Village, as well as in the Netherlands and Luxembourg pavilions. Saint-Gobain Glass China delivered 1,500 square meters of solar control glass and low-emissivity glass for the France Pavilion. Lastly, Norton adhesive tape (Innovative Materials) was used in the Hong Kong Pavilion.
