Pilkington's Popular Sun Management and Thermal Stress Calculators are now together in one handy Mobile App

Date: 18 November 2015

Pilkington North America’s popular Sun Management and Thermal Stress Calculators are now together in one interactive mobile app.

This new interactive app includes all the features of the classic online tools.

The new app takes users through a simple step-by-step process to build unique glazing combinations. The interactive glass modeling features allow users to see how the glazing combination changes with new inputs.

The Sun Management Calculator is a handy interactive tool for calculating the solar, optical and thermal properties of our most popular glazing combinations. The app will generate a custom glass specification that is ready to incorporate into a project specification. The calculator allows users to view project references with similar glazing combinations, email results, provide technical bulletins, and links seamlessly to the Thermal Stress Calculator for quick results.

The Thermal Stress Calculator is designed to help determine whether users need to heat treat or temper a wide variety of glazing combinations. It even accounts for the building’s location, shadows from overhangs, and allows combinations including other manufacturer’s glass. Performance data for each glass type is submitted by the manufacturer to the National Fenestration Ratings Council (NFRC).

The NSG Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers of glass and glazing systems in three major business areas; Automotive, Architectural and Technical Glass.

Automotive serves the original equipment, aftermarket replacement, and specialized transport glazing markets.

Architectural supplies glass for architectural and solar energy applications. Technical Glass products include very thin glass for displays, lenses and light guides for printers, and glass fiber, used in battery separators and engine timing belts.

We have major market shares in most building and automotive product markets of the world, with a broad geographic reach, enabling us to respond to customers whose operations, particularly in the case of Automotive OE, are increasingly global.

Geographically, 41 percent of the Group's sales are in Europe, 29 percent in Japan and 13 percent in North America, with the remaining 17 percent being generated mainly in South America, China, South East Asia and Russia.
