PatioMaster Ireland and longstanding customer Derryork Windows of County Londonderry have just completed an unusual project in Coleraine – the installation of five sliding patio doors in a VIP dog hotel.

Ian Eccles is the owner of Alpha 1 Dog Hotel, which officially opened in April 2018. He says the aim was to create an upmarket dog hotel and patio doors were an important part of the look. “Dog homes can often be unappealing, with dogs peering through the bars of their kennels,” he explains. “I wanted to use patio doors so the dogs in our VIP suites would have a clear, open look out that felt much more homely.”

When Ian first started to investigate the options, he had assumed he was looking for aluminium doors. It was a conversation with Derek Morrow of the family-owned Derryork Windows that changed his mind. “I was amazed by the colour options and versatility of the PatioMaster doors,” says Ian.

Derryork has been working with PatioMaster Ireland for many years and Derek praises the reliability of the team but says it’s the quality of the doors that really stand out: “The quality of PatioMaster doors is truly superb – they’re highly engineered with smooth operation. The PatioMaster doors also offers superb energy efficiency and ensures protection against the elements ensuring maximum comfort and we are happy to recommend them to our customers.”

Ian of Alpha 1 Dog Hotel opted for PatioMaster patio doors in Anthracite Grey. The five doors were manufactured by PatioMaster Ireland and installed by Derryork. A range of different sizes was needed to cater for the different sizes of dog that will be staying in the hotel.

Christine Gaw of PatioMaster Ireland commented: “Derryork Windows has worked alongside us for many years and have a strong reputation of quality and workmanship. When we were approached by Derryork Windows regarding this unique project, we were very excited as this is the first project of its kind for us and demonstrates the versatility of the PatioMaster sliding patio door. The Anthracite Grey sliding patios look fantastic in this installation. Minimal PVC-U with a large glass area bringing lots of light. A real touch of class!”

Derek added: “We are delighted with the finish and look of the new dog hotel. It was interesting installing something a bit different and we thank Ian for giving Derryork the opportunity to tender for this job.”

And most importantly of all, Ian is delighted with the end result: “The doors look great and the smooth operation of the doors is fantastic – they really add the wow factor to the VIP dog suite.”
