Owens Corning Awards Siemens with 2015 Supplier Award for Value Creation

Date: 12 November 2015

In September, Owens Corning hosted their 5th Annual Global Supplier Event and recognized Siemens with its Value Creation Award.

This award is given to a company that is able to create value by reducing costs and improving production efficiencies.

Siemens earned this award for the work done on the Gastonia project, Owens Corning’s new greenfield glass Non-Woven manufacturing facility located in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Siemens delivered value in many ways including coordinating OEMs and for the use of a consistent control strategy by OEMs in Europe and the United States. Siemens also assisted in the creation of project standards and the close coordination of each machinery and system supplier.

“Two years ago, Owens Corning and Siemens entered into a supply agreement for the first time in North America to build an advanced glass non-woven manufacturing line. Since that time, Siemens has demonstrated their commitment to deliver true values for Owens Corning through quality, cost and service. As a leading glass non-woven producer, we are pleased to work with a Global leader in Electrical and process automation field,” said Suman Raha, GM North America Non-Woven Business for Owens Corning.

“We truly value the relationship that has developed over the last two years with Owens Corning, a company committed to delivering excellence and innovation to its customers. I am honored that Siemens products, solutions and expertise can help them reach their goals,” said Raj Batra, Division President, Siemens U.S. Digital Factory.
