Listers Post Record Results

Date: 28 April 2011

Lister Trade Frames of Stoke on Trent, manufacturers of the Elitis Brand, have just signed off their year-end financial results which show strong growth in 2010 and increased profitability.2010 was a tough year for many trade fabrication businesses that were faced with regular increases to raw material costs from their suppliers coupled with pricing pressures from their trade customers who were being encouraged to look around for lower priced products.

However, some fabricators, like Listers, seem to have weathered the storm very well and are set to face 2011 with added confidence.

Listers reported an increase in sales for the year of some £1.2 Million compared to the same period in the previous year, which is a 17.5 percent rise. It would also seem that Listers didn’t make the mistake of gaining all this extra business at the loss of margin. They reported a 21 percent increase in profitability in the same period.

Speaking for the Listers Director Team, Managing Director Mark Warren said that they were very pleased with the results and that their hard work over the last few years was now paying dividends; “These results have been very hard fought for.” Says Mark, “We have made a lot of structural changes to the business and have focused on providing customers with a more efficient service along with additional products and extra marketing support to help them to get the sale.”

Mark continues to make the point that Listers’ success comes from continually making lots of improvements across the entire business and not simply relying on one single big change to make the difference. “We have continued to invest in our people, our IT and Manufacturing infrastructure and we have been determined not to follow the same route as some of our competitors by going down the ‘let’s make it even cheaper’ route which we believe just ends in a downward spiral to a company’s death.”

The Director Team at Listers is very focused on the business goals and in continuing to provide an enviable record in quality and service to their customers. The latest financial results underscore their determination to succeed and give yet another insight as to why they were acknowledged at the 2010 G-Awards as the UK’s Fabricator of the Year.
