Kopp Glass announces successful installation of new goniophotometer manufactured by Sapphire Technical Solutions, LLC.

Kopp Glass, http://www.koppglass.com, the world’s leading manufacturer of precision molded, technical glass lenses announced today the successful installation of a custom, state-of-the-art goniophotometer. The installation is a continuation of a major capital improvement program that started over a year ago at Kopp Glass. “While Kopp’s focus on continuous improvement was the main driver for this upgrade, Kopp also wanted to invest in a photometric testing system that would meet the increasing testing challenges of our current and future customer’s lighting fixtures.” -Rob Diana, Kopp’s Director of Manufacturing

The goniophotometer was custom designed for Kopp to incorporate flexibility into the testing process between aerospace and airfield lighting requirements. The overall goal of the design was to make the testing procedure more efficient while guaranteeing accurate photometric results and compliance with rigid FAA and ICAO lens specifications.
