Glass Factory to Lay off 100 Workers in Bulgaria's Pleven

About 100 workers at the Rubin glass plant in the northern Bulgarian city of Pleven are expected to be declared redundant within the next month.A hundred workers at Pleven's "Rubin" glass-works expect to lose their jobs by the end of the year.

Svilen Yankov, Director of the local Employment Bureau, told BGNES that a representative of the glass-works had spoken to a member of the Bureau and announced these intentions, but that he has not yet delivered a formal written notification.

According to Yankov, however, it is not mandatory that the employees to be made redundant total 100.
