Glass and Glazing Federation strengthens its leadership team with the appointment of Amy Hopton-Smith as Head of Commercial and Operations, reinforcing its focus on growth and member value.

The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) has appointed Amy Hopton-Smith as its new Head of Commercial and Operations, marking a further step in strengthening the organisation’s leadership team as it continues to evolve its commercial and operational focus.

Amy has played a pivotal role within the Federation, particularly across membership engagement and development as Head of Membership. During her time with the GGF, she has developed a strong understanding of member priorities and how they align with the wider challenges facing the glass and glazing sector.

In her new role, Amy will be responsible for driving commercial performance and operational delivery across the Federation. This includes supporting business growth, enhancing member retention, and identifying new opportunities to develop the GGF’s membership offering.

Working closely with Lauren Mawford, Director of the GGF, and the wider leadership team, Amy will support the continued alignment of the organisation’s activities, ensuring the Federation remains well-positioned to represent the industry while delivering value to its members.

“Amy’s appointment as Head of Commercial and Operations is a very positive step forward for the Federation,” explains Lauren. “Our focus on developing internal talent and promoting high-performing employees to encourage long-term retention, was central to the recruitment process. Her clear understanding of the GGF, alongside her ability to identify future opportunities, is what made her stand our during the recruitment process.”

“Amy’s presence in this role will be highly beneficial to members,” added Lauren. “Alongside leading the membership department, she will play a key role in shaping and delivering a strategic approach to member engagement. Ensuring members are well-positioned to access opportunities and maximise value from the GGF by strengthening stakeholder relationships, creating strong connections, and driving growth that supports not only the Federation but the wider GGF group.”

At a time of continued change across the sector, with increased spotlights on efficiency and commercial performance, delivering measurable value to members is essential. Amy’s role as Head of Commercial and Operations will play a crucial part in supporting members as the industry evolves.
