CRL's personnel education initiatives pay off with first grouping of employees to pass CSI's rigorous CDT exam.   C.R.

Laurence takes pride in designing, manufacturing, and supplying some of the industry's best architectural glass and glazing products. The company attributes its success to world-class distribution, processes, equipment, and most importantly its personnel. During 2013 C.R. Laurence became a corporate partner with Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and developed a training program to further develop its employee's construction industry knowledge. During December, the first round of technical sales professionals, outside sales representatives, and project managers received the distinguished Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) Certification. Passing this rigorous exam demonstrates a comprehensive working knowledge of interpreting written construction documents, understanding the roles and relationships of all participants, and elevates credibility with the architectural community when collaborating on projects. In addition, the CDT Certification improves communication channels between CRL professionals, general contractors and glazing contractors thanks to the program's insight into how projects unfold from conception through delivery. C.R. Laurence is proud of this major accomplishment by its personnel and is committed to continuing the CDT Certification process in March with a second round of personnel seeking certification.

"Inadequate knowledge of the arduous construction process can delay and adversely affect a project's schedule and design team at large," says Lloyd Talbert, President of C.R. Laurence. "Obtaining CDT Certification legitimizes and enhances our personnel's ability to provide solid product recommendations that meet all performance criteria and tight project deadlines. This latest certification boosts project stakeholders' confidence in our architectural systems as well as the credentials and competencies of our technical specialists."

C.R. Laurence will participate in CSI's Master Specifiers Retreat from January 20th - 22nd in Amelia Island, Florida. To learn more about CSI, CDT Certification, and the Master Specifiers Retreat, visit csinet.org.
