Emirates Glass receives order for Zayed University

Date: 7 March 2006

Emirates Glass, a Dubai Investment subsidiary and the region's leading supplier of premium architectural flat glass products, has won a major order to supply the facade glazing at the new Zayed University Campus.

The order is for the supply of 14,000 square meters of the company's 24mm Emicool Sun NN60 Blue multifunctional Low-E glass. 'This order demonstrates once again that Emirates Glass can make available products that perfectly suit the environmental conditions prevailing in the Gulf region. Our products are of premium quality and performance and we expect to supply the required glass within the time-frame stipulated by our client,' said Mr. Jerry Dowling, General Manager, Emirates Glass.

EmiCoolSun NN Series has been developed as a range of Low-E coatings which have a neutral-silver appearance when applied onto clear glass. When applied on a wide variety of tinted float glass substrates, the EmiCoolSun Range of four coating options provides a broad multifunctional capability with good solar resistance and excellent thermal insulation. It allows generous transmission of light with low internal reflection, giving the appearance of clear or tinted glass when viewed from inside the building. The EmiCoolSun range of Low-E glass is also substantially compliant with the latest Dubai Municipality energy-saving regulations for the performance of façade glazing.

In addition to EmiCoolSun, Emirates Glass has an even wider spectrum of architectural glass products to choose from, including EmiCool Classic full solar-control glass, EmiCoolPlus NE70 Low-E glass and EmiCool Super E2 spectrally selective Low-E glass.

The company has supplied its products to a huge number of big name projects regionally and in the UAE.

Only recently the company was contracted to supply of 4,000 square meters of its EmiCoolSunNN35 Blue multi-functional Low E glass for the Imperial College of London Diabetes Center in Abu Dhabi. Other recent projects include Palm Jumeirah villas, Etisalat Tower near the Trade Centre Roundabout, Jumeirah Beach Residences and the New Concourse 2 at Dubai International Airport.
