Laurence's U.S. Aluminum Division, an industry leader and manufacturer of aluminum architectural systems, has developed new patent pending Corner-Loc Corner Construction technology that serves as the strongest commercial door corner assembly in the industry. Key components of standard door rail-to-stile corner construction have been carefully reengineered to minimize the damaging effects of forceful impacts and the repetitive torquing action of automatic door operators. To achieve this, the engineering team designed new technology to ensure proper alignment of top and bottom rails with vertical stiles, and exact positioning of shear block fasteners.
CRL's R&D team performed specialized severe torsion cycle testing in their advanced ISO 9001:2008 certified facilities to measure the reliability of the door corner construction against similar systems from other manufacturers. The results showed that the new Corner-Loc technology significantly reduced weld failures and enabled the door to last many times longer than the closest competitor's doors. This provided C.R. Laurence Company with the utmost confidence to provide a lifetime warranty on Corner-Loc Corner Construction for both standard and thermally broken U.S. Aluminum doors.
"We've made significant upgrades to an already proven product, making substantial design enhancements that are now standard features," says Gary Sprague, Vice President of Engineering. "We're offering a stock system that is easy to install, and that simply outperforms others on the market, which translates into tangible value for both installers and end-users alike."
New Corner-Loc technology comes standard on all CRL-U.S. Aluminum narrow, medium, and wide stile doors in thermal and non-thermal configurations. They are available at the company's North American Service Centers. For more information, visit usalum.com.
