A new container glass plant is coming up in United Arab Emirates. The new plant, which will have the capacity to produce 600 million bottles per year, is being set up by Ghani Glass Ltd, Pakistan's largest glass manufacturer, in collaboration with Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (Rakia) and the Startup Group. The construction of the new plant would be completed in 15 months.

The RAK Ghani Glass plant will have the capacity to produce 120 tonnes of glass per day or 600 million light weight bottles per year to cater to the pharmaceutical market of Middle East, Europe and Far East. The new plant would incorporate the latest technology and machinery to maintain high product quality. Ghani Glass Ltd is the premier manufacturer of glass products in Pakistan, producing more than 200,000 tonnes of glass per year.

The Ras Al Khaimah government is working relentlessly to provide the ideal atmosphere to attract local, regional and foreign investments, stressed Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, crown prince and deputy ruler of ras Al Khaimah. Shaikh Saud made his remarks at the opening ceremony of the new $20 million RAK-Ghani Glass factory at the RAK Industrial Zone. Industry majors from all over the world are increasingly finding Ras Al Khaimah a suitable place to set up industries and base their operations in the region. The Government of Ras Al Khaimah is being led by the vision to put in place a simplified and hassle-free business environment that would help entrepreneurs realise their full potential in the emirate
