Recent reports of falling glass raining down from balconies of high-rise buildings and injuring people have caused public safety concerns across the U.

S. and Canada. Heightened awareness of these events has triggered pressure from building owners, architects, glass contractors, and public building departments to increase safety and reduce their liability. C.R. Laurence offers a range of systems that work with tempered laminated glass available with our dry glaze TAPER-LOCTM system.

Chris Hanstad, Brand Manager, Architectural Railing Division, states, “CRL has a complete family of products designed for laminated glass that addresses the need for safer products, and also meet each customer’s aesthetic requirements and budget. We have designed, tested, and manufacture in the U.S. the most complete range of tempered laminated glass railing, standoff railing, post railing, aluminum post railing, glass windscreen, glass gates, and glass smoke baffles. In addition, we are working closely with DuPontTM SentryGlas® interlayer which is safer, stronger, clearer, and stiffer than conventional laminating materials, and works with CRL’s tempered laminated glass systems perfectly.”

The CRL GRS Glass Railing System is one of those innovative products that the market is moving towards because it provides a virtually “all-glass” look for unobstructed views. This system was designed, because of safety and liability concerns, for tempered glass and tempered laminated glass ranging from 9/16” up to 1-1/16” thick. In addition, for those that prefer the labor savings of a dry glazed system, the TAPER-LOC TM system cuts installation time by 50% making installation as easy as ready, set, done.

The following additional CRL systems are available for use with tempered laminated glass:

SRS Standoff Railing System

PRS Post Railing System

ARS Aluminum Railing System

Windscreen System

Glass Gates

Smoke Baffles

Barrier Posts
