Leading building envelope and solar products specialist Schueco UK Limited has announced that Mike Lane, currently Sales Director Metal Construction, will lead the company when Managing Director Marc von Briel leaves towards the second half of the year to set up a new Schueco subsidiary in Australia to service the Australasian region.

Mike joined Schueco UK in July 2010 after 20 years in the architectural aluminium extrusion sector. In addition to working for major companies such as Alcoa, where he became European Customer Service Director, he has an MBA in Business Administration.



Commenting on his appointment, Marc von Briel said: 'Mike has done an excellent job since his arrival at Schueco. He has the drive and ability to see the company through the current difficult economic times and possesses the vision to build the business and that of its network of business partners still further. I wish him every success and I'd like to take this opportunity to say a personal thank-you to all Schueco's customers for their loyalty and support over the last eight years.'



An enthusiastic fan of sport both as a spectator and as a participant, Mike is a follower of Formula One motor-racing and Manchester City FC and is a keen angler for specimen carp in the UK and France.
