Date: 28 July 2014

Bucher Emhart Glass, the leading global supplier of machinery and equipment to the glass manufacturing industry, is pleased to announce changes to the management team, sales structure, pricing model, and product distribution of its refractories division.

Lajos Giczi is promoted to Global Business Manager Refractories, with responsibility for all refractory manufacturing and field sales. He will be based at the Bucher Emhart Glass office in Neuss, Germany. Lajos joined Bucher Emhart Glass in 2013 as Sales Manager Refractories EMEA, having previously been Director of Sales and Production at Refmon Refractory Monolithics Ltd.

The sales force for refractories has also been strengthened, with salespeople dedicated to the EMEA, Asia-Pacific, and Americas regions.

Commonly ordered refractory items – including orifice rings, plungers, burner blocks, cement, and more – are now held in stock at Bucher Emhart Glass’ distribution hub in Luxembourg, and the pricing structure for refractory expendables has also been revised.

‘I’m delighted to take up my new position, and excited about the changes we’re making in refractories,’ says Lajos Giczi. ‘Our new approach to pricing will allow us to compete more keenly in the global market. With parts on stock, and the ability to increase the stock on request, we can serve customers much more effectively, particularly in Europe. Finally, with salespeople exclusively focused on refractories, customers can rely on Bucher Emhart Glass for responsive, knowledgeable refractory support whenever they need it.’
