Asahi Glass' 9-month profit likely jumped 22%

Asahi Glass' group operating profit for the nine months through Sept. 30 likely rose 22% on the year to around 52 billion yen ($429 million), marking the company's first profit growth for January-September in five years.

The company's chemical products fared well in Southeast Asia, and restructuring steps in the glass business boosted earnings, too.Sales are estimated at around 990 billion yen, roughly flat on the year.
