Scratches on Low E Glass

Hi

I have just installed new double glazing on some of my windows however i managed to scratch the outside surface yesterday when i washed the windows after getting my driveway powerwashed and there must have been a grit residue left behind (What has surprised me was how easily they scratched as my old windows are fine)

I have bought a scratch repair kit on the Net which combines a powder and buff that you put in your electric drill and softly buff away the scratches, I plan to use this at the weekend however i wanted to ask if anybody knew whether in trying to fix the scratches I could in fact make the windows worse

Urgent replies would be most greateful and you can email me direct at innes.muir@networkrail.co.uk

Many thanks

Hi......You have not mentioned how deep the scratches are or what type of powder you have purchased. There is a chance that if it is an abrasive system then you will cause distortion to the glass. Please view our website www.glasstechnics.co.uk or contact me at tony@glasstechnics.co.uk and I will gladly discuss this with you. Cheers Tony
