Low-e during summer time

I have read a lot of information regarding low-e benefits during the winter time. How it maintain the heat inside the building preventing it to leave the room. And what is happening in the summer time? Does it work the same way? Because I don’t want to store heat inside my building during the summer time. Or is low-e used only in “winter countries”?

In the summer, long-wave heat energy radiating from objects is reflected back outside, lowering cooling cost. Also Low-E reduces UV rays which can damage internal forniture.
