Repair of surface defects on tempered glass

In our business we use curved panels of tempered glass in windshield assemblies. We have a piece with three scratches approx. 14 mm long, and penetrating the surface. We have polished them out with a product called "Scratch Lifter" purchased at "Liquidresins.com". My question is - does polishing tempered glass to remove a surface imperfection such as a scratch compromise the structural integrity of the pane of glass? The glass we use is produced by Trend Glass if this has any bearing. Also, the polishing action did not produce any noticable distortion to the glass. Thanks for the response.

Scratch Lifter will remove scratches from tempered glass if the scratch is no deeper than .004 of an inch. Deeper scratches can be removed with different products.
