Self-cleaning tech story not complete

The recent story on self-cleaning glass technology is definitely worthwhile in explaining the difference between hyrophobic (commonly used by aftermarket sprays for windshields) and hydrophilic (used by the major glass makers). However, one very important aspect was left out: the "dirt-destroying" or photocatalytic action.

fusing float glass

I am planning on making 65 20"x27"x3/4" float glass panels fused from 1/4" pieces. I know I have numerous things to work out. I want the panels to be able to be seen through. some distortion, bubbles etc. are ok, but I want to see objects through the glass. My tests have a slight textured back from the thin ceramic paper or the kiln wash on the stainless steel. this texture is similar to frosted glass. I am trying to find high temperature graphite to see if I can get a smoother finish, but have not found a source for pieces that large. Anyone know a source?.
