What software we use for design, manage, manufacture, montage and etc. facades, windows, doors?

I am trying to find out about the glass manufacturing process, specifically the chemicals, minerals, oils and other inputs that are required in the production process...how they are used etc etc. I am not a technical person, and am looking for a "big picture" explanation..
If there is a web site that anyone can direct me to, please do so.

Has anybody data or links about the surface area (or tons) of glass facades which are produced in the world?
Also, I am looking for low-E glass production numbers.

I have had a lot of trouble locating Tooley's 3rd edition of the Handbook of Glass Manufacture published in 85 or so. Does anyone know a good place to find this book, or have a copy for sale?

Does anybody use self-cleaning glass for residential purposes? Please let me know whether you have some experienced with it.

I need to obtain some 1.5m long by 13cm diameter (or close to) glass columns.

Can anybody suggests any potential suppliers in the UK?

I am working on a second year design project to design a small glass artist collective. I want a 3m high, free standing glass wall, which is in pieces varying from 3x4m to 3x1m. Is this possible? I have been looking at the possibility of using glass beams or interlocking glass channels. Any other ideas?
