Creating Scratch Resistant Surfaces

Is anyone familiar with this technology? I understand that Bingswanger Mirror had a method for creating a scratch resistant surface. But I tested it and found it somewhat wanting. The only way to do this is with the right chemical, and not in a production mode. I was wondering what kind of a market for it is out there if one were to charge a couple bux per square foot. I am expecting expensive mirrors, or table tops would be the way to go.

Mergers

I know CRL acquired Sommer & Maca but I was also told that they purchased US Horizon. It's a strange time in the industry right now...a lot of glass shops in my area are going out of business and it scares me that some of the leading suppliers are being bought out.

implementing lean production in glass processing plant

Hi all,

What are the important points and recommended solutions to effectively implement Lean Production in a Glass Processing Plant where there are too much Work in Process, internal rejects and machine breakdowns and other problems?

We have done more things as normally. But I want to get the different opinions, different experiences.
Most of the time it is not so easy to know how the glass defects happen.
Need your help

Thanks
