Vitrum energy 2009, facing the future

The 16th VITRUM, international exhibition specialized in the machinery, equipment and systems for flat and hollow glass processing will host VITRUM ENERGY 2009: the first Italian and international showcase able to present, all together, in an area dedicated just to them, the latest technologies and materials directed toward energy savings and utilization of renewable resources.

Now, more than ever, the interest of the building and construction industry is focused emphatically on energy saving solutions and the use of environmentally friendly materials.

Architects and designers around the world are working to create living spaces that make broader use of renewable energy, employing the lowest possible amounts of energy sources that produce greenhouse gas and reducing to a minimum the dispersion of energy.

Thermal and photovoltaic panels, coatings for facades and windows that reduce energy loss, and glass ceramics for cooktops that guarantee energy efficiency and durability over time, are no longer niche offerings but products that will win over an increasingly large share of the international market over the coming years.

The glass industry has responded with enthusiasm and commitment to the challenge brought on by limited energy resources available, working in recent years to develop innovative products. Common practices, like the use of insulating materials, have been joined by cutting edge solutions like the manufacture of radiant panels and glass coatings, capable of producing photovoltaic energy.

Within the sphere of VITRUM 2009, it will be possible to visit Vitrum Energy 2009, the first Italian and international showcase able to present, in an area dedicated solely to them, technologies and materials designed to save energy. The new section of this important Exhibition dedicated to the world of glass, will offer the possibility of taking a look into the future through the innovations of the leading international manufacturers and to preview the avant-garde solutions that will improve the energy efficiency of our homes.
