Surface Specialties UCB will be showcasing its world leading UV-curable glass lamination system UVEKOL on its Stand C75, Hall 12 at Glass Tec 04.

The stand will feature innovative examples of UVEKOL systems, including curved glass, coloured glass, glass embedded with light emitting diodes, sound-proof glass and laminated marble glass. All these demonstrate the unparalleled flexibility offered by UVEKOL to architects, designers and other building specifiers.

Applied between layers of glass, the one-step UVEKOL liquid systems require less investment and energy than traditional glass-laminating processes making them accessible to small and medium sized window and door manufacturers.

The UVEKOL process is based entirely on solvent-free, low pressure UV curing technology which is extremely efficient and produces the minimum amount of waste. Laminated glass curing with ultraviolet light can take as little as 20 minutes.

UVEKOL lamination provides a high level of acoustic, safety, security and design benefits and meets both European and US tests and architectural standards including Germany’s snow-load requirements for over-head glazing.

The strength of Uvekol glass laminates means they can even be used for staircases, elevators and crosswalks where they might be required to carry considerable weights.

The elasticity of the UVEKOL interlayer provides superior sound-deadening properties and these laminates also offer a very high degree of transparency even when used for curved glass and irregular shapes.
