Date: 18 November 2014

Companies extend partnership to focus on growing healthcare and commercial construction markets in the Middle Eastern region – Unicel Architectural, manufacturer of vision and daylight control solutions, today announced a distribution agreement with Framaco International for construction initiatives in Bahrain and Qatar.  This agreement expands on Unicel’s distribution capabilities in the Middle East region to better meet the demand for its aluminum and glass privacy and shading products.

Framaco specializes in construction materials procurement, optimizing the allocation and delivery process with a select network of manufacturers to ensure key performance indicators for major global construction projects.

“Our reputation as a materials resource and procurement expert is predicated on working with leading manufacturers to meet our construction clients’ exacting demands for quality, reliability and service,” said Gilles Kacha, CEO of Framaco. “Unicel’s products are field-proven in the Middle East and have resonance particularly for healthcare construction where patient privacy and optimal healing environments are a priority. We are pleased to expand our partnership with Unicel to include distribution conditions for the dynamic economies of Bahrain and Qatar, where we have successfully delivered on dozens of projects over the past 15 years.”

Most recently, Unicel’s Vision Control® insulating glass units with integrated cord-free louvers have been installed in the Sidra Medical and Research Center and the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi Hospital. Sidra Medical, an ultra-modern medical facility that focuses on the health of women and children in Qatar, features over 200 Vision Control® units in patient areas. Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi Hospital, one of the largest medical centers in the Middle East, is designed for unprecedented levels of patientcentered care and includes 250 Vision Control® units for interior use in doors, windows and borrowed lites.

“Unicel’s patented Vision Control® louvers-within-glass solution is already the privacy solution of choice for leading regional healthcare construction projects,” said Jean-François Couturier, CEO of Unicel Architectural. “With over 20 years’ experience spanning hundreds of major global construction projects, Framaco has earned a reputation as a pre-eminent international materials resource expert. Middle Eastern healthcare and commercial construction spending is on the rise and we look forward to working with Framaco to help us address these market opportunities.”
