There are many problems that home owners in the UK are experiencing with old style polycarbonate conservatory roofs.

Common areas where people feel the need to change their roofs are; they can be too noisy, they need to reduce the glare from the sun, too hot in the summer and freezing cold in the winter.

We at TuffX have recently supplied 55 panels of our Ambi-Blue Glass to a country home in Warrington, Cheshire. Our Ambi-Blue glass roof option comes in a delicate blue tint and offers up to 60% reflection from the sun's heat rays, reducing the internal temperature of a conservatory in summer for easy all year round living.

With a U value of 1.2, it allows the customers to know how effective their glass is as an insulator. The lower the U-value is, the better the material is as a heat insulator, maintaining the temperature all year round. The homeowners have reportedly felt the benefits right away and are very pleased with the outcome.

According to the installers, the homeowners live on the back of the local golf course; therefore they were finding the noise during weekends and peak season to be sometimes disturbing as polycarbonate is a thin plastic material that, this being the major reason for them to opt with a new glass roof as our glass reduces the noise levels by 50%.

The Ambi-Blue Glass also supplied them with a 53% reduction from the sun's glare which can reduce the risk of their furniture and fabrics fading. The majority of glass within the Ambience range has self-cleaning properties, including this Ambi-Blue Glass, making this a striking option for any conservatory installation.
