Tank leaks tons of molten glass at SJ factory

SALEM, N.J. (AP) — A tank at a southern New Jersey glass manufacturing plant ruptured, sending about 130 tons of molten glass flowing into a containment area and onto the plant's floor, starting a fire.

No injuries were reported.

More than 50 firefighters responded to the blaze Thursday at the Anchor Glass Container Corp., which sent smoke pouring from the building and filled the air in downtown Salem with an acrid smell...  ...more.
