Glass is one of the most flexible materials, giving architects, artists and manufacturers of glass products a multitude of creations.

The upcoming Glass trade fair will be an opportunity to learn the secrets of different methods of how to ornament this beautiful material. Demonstrations and practical workshops have been planned, making Glass an unusual place where business, ecology and arts all come together. It is also the only trade fair for this sector in Poland.

Demonstrations of glass decoration techniques will be one of the most spectacular events at Glass. This is an unusual opportunity to eye-witness the entire process of making glass objects, starting from the melting of raw glass in the blast furnace, through its initial forming, thermal shaping and decorating it with the use of fusing technology.

The demonstrations will be complemented by interactive workshops. Anyone has an idea for jewellery made of glass? Glass will give you an opportunity to make one, which will be a handmade, beautiful souvenir for years.

But that is not all. Visitors will be able to follow not only the formation of spatial stained glass using Tiffany's technique, but also to challenge their skills with this technique.

The event cannot lack demonstrations in the oldest technique of glass decoration - spray painting, as well as the more modern one - sandblasting. Sand will be blown onto the glass pane under high pressure in special closed cabins to create a designed pattern.

The fair will also feature a unique exhibition of award-winning works in the EduPak Poland competition, which promotes knowledge about glass recycling among pre-school children as well as primary and secondary school students. The second edition of EduPak Poland is addressed to children and youth from the Wielkopolska region.

This year, the competition was open to students of secondary schools in Wielkopolska, as well as primary schools (divided into two groups: classes I-IV and V-VIII) and kindergarteners. Each of the groups mentioned above had been assigned different competition tasks, adjusted to the age of the participants.

- “The competition itself is to be only a tool to bring pro-ecological activities closer. Our goal is to change the attitudes and habits of children and adolescents, but we also want to honour their efforts with prizes that the winners will choose for themselves.” informs Barbara Maciałczyk from Friends of Glass Polska, the organizer of the competition.

Glass is primarily a meeting of representatives of the business world and an opportunity to establish important partnership relations. The fair brings together market leaders and key players to establish business contacts, get to know the latest developments and follow current trends.

Exhibitors find it an opportunity to present machines, devices and accessories for processing flat glass. There will be no shortage of the latest applications of glass for construction and architecture.

“For a long time, we have been observing a constant development of the glass industry in Poland, which translates into the results of the Glass trade fair. The glass industry today is one of the most profitable areas. Its profitability has been stable at 8.7% for several years. The new trends in architecture and construction also show an array of possibilities for the application of glass. It is not only an ecological material, but also an artistic one, which allows to achieve exceptional design effects,” says Matusz Szymczak, Glass trade fair Director.

Every year, the trade fair is attended by industry leaders, presenting their products and the latest solutions. CDA POLSKA, GLASS - SERVICE, GLASSLIFT, MEKANIKA, MC DIAM - these are just some of the leading companies that will be present at the Glass fair.

A group of international entrepreneurs and journalists will come to the Glass trade fair and the Stone 2018 trade fair, held simultaneously, following the invitation of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency and MTP. It is an important part of the economic mission participated in by entrepreneurs representing the markets of Kazakhstan, Russia, Iran, Ukraine, UAE, Turkey and Azerbaijan.

The last edition of Glass and Stone was visited by more than 5,000 professionals from all over the world.

The GLASS trade fair will be held in Poznań from 14 to 17 November 2018, and will be accompanied by STONE, the trade fair for the stonemasonry industry.
