Schueco’s Library of BIM Fenestration Objects is UK’s First

Leading building envelope and solar products specialist, Schueco UK, has announced another UK first – a library of aluminium fenestration objects developed specifically for use with Building Information Modeling (BIM).

The library includes windows, doors, sliding doors and sliding/folding doors. In addition, Schueco’s range of curtain wall profiles can be assigned to Autodesk Revit generic façade systems.

The move recognises the growing importance of the BIM concept to the future of construction in Britain (it will be mandatory for all government projects over £5 million by 2016) and demonstrates Schueco UK’s commitment to technological innovation and to providing an unrivalled level of customer service.

For Schueco Network fabricators, the company will also be launching an important upgrade to its powerful SchuCal+ design, estimating and processing software in early 2013. This will provide a two-way connection between SchuCal+ and Revit and allow architects to send generic drawings which can then be populated with Schueco products.

To assist architects, construction companies and fabricators working with BIM, Schueco UK has set up a dedicated e-mail address to handle project enquiries:

Schueco – Green Technology for the Blue Planet.

That means clean energy from solar products and windows. And the contribution that Schueco makes to the environment with pioneering building envelopes. To be more precise, with Energy3: Saving Energy – Generating Energy – Networking Energy. Window and façade systems not only save energy due to optimum thermal insulation, they also generate energy thanks to efficient solar solutions. This creates an excess of energy which can be used by means of intelligent networking. For building functions, as well as for everyday life. The result is a significant step towards energy self-sufficiency. Towards the sustainable conservation of natural resources. And for a secure future. With more than 5,000 employees and 12,000 partner companies, Schueco is active in 78 countries and achieved turnover of 2.23 billion euros in 2011. For more information, visit
