Schott AG will exhibit an SPD-Smart™ aircraft cabin window and other smart glass products produced by Research Frontiers (Nasdaq: REFR) licensee SmartGlass International Ltd. at the 2011 Aircraft Interiors Show being held April 5-7, 2011 in Hamburg, Germany.

Schott AG’s stand at the 2011 Aircraft Interiors Expo is #5G80.

Made with patented light-control SPD film developed by Research Frontiers, SPD-SmartGlass is the world's fastest-switching variably tintable dynamic glazing technology. It is the only dimmable window technology that gives users the ability to instantly and precisely control the level of shading to any point between very dark and clear. This provides exceptional control over solar energy while also adding to user comfort and protecting interiors. Available in both glass and lightweight polycarbonate substrates, SPD-Smart™ products – windows, skylights, doors, partitions, sunroofs and more – are laminated glazings that offer a distinctive combination of sustainability and security, can be controlled manually or automatically, and are available in custom sizes and fabrications for new construction, replacement and retrofit projects.

SmartGlass International is a leading worldwide manufacturer of electronically switchable glass supplied to the commercial, hospitality, healthcare, transport and security, industrial, exhibition and exclusive residential sectors. The company recently tripled its smart glass production capacity with a new factory capable of producing over 400,000 square feet of smart glass per year. This factory, located in Dublin, Ireland, includes state-of-the-art lamination and glass fabrication facilities.

SmartGlass International and the SCHOTT Group have an agreement granting SCHOTT the right to sell SmartGlass International’s SPD-Smart products. In business for more than 125 years, SCHOTT is a world leader in the specialty glass industry and brings its extensive infrastructure of sales, distribution and service – including over 50 sales offices spanning 125 countries – to SmartGlass International and its award-winning SPD-Smart product line.
