Integrated Talent Management HR Initiative Leads to Improved Employee EngagementCOLUMBUS, Ohio – June 29, 2012 – Safelite AutoGlass®, the largest U.

S. vehicle glass repair and replacement company, is pleased to announce its Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Operations Steve Miggo has earned the Gold level Human Resources Executive of the Year in the 2012 American Business AwardsSM.The American Business Awards are the nation’s premier business awards program.More than 3,000 nominations were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories. The winners were selected by more than 270 executives nationwide who participated in the judging process this year.

Miggo joined Safelite AutoGlass® in 2008. He is a key driver behind Safelite’s cultural transformation, achieved through the “People First” strategic initiative, which involves maximizing “people” – from talent development to employee engagement – as a key part of the company’s growth strategy.

Using a top-to-bottom approach, Miggo’s HR team implemented an integrated talent management platform, designed to attract, develop, engage and retain the talent needed to support Safelite’s business goals. During this initiative, more than 1,000 company leaders participated in custom-designed leadership development workshops while all employees have access to monthly e Courses.

Along with talent development, People First requires a culture of feedback, so Miggo introduced a new employee engagement program tied directly to the People First initiative. The results are evident: during a year when engagement scores dropped by an average of 2 points in companies across the country, Safelite AutoGlass® delivered a 5% increase, reaching 76% overall engagement in 2011, which is within the top 25% of Best-in-Class industry results. As expected, improvements in employee engagement correlate with Safelite’s customer satisfaction scores, which also continue to rise.
