Date: 6 June 2013

Although the complete project is not anticipated to be finished until the end of 2014, Q-railing has already finished its work at Volkswagen’s new research center for light-weight automotive techniques.       800 meters of Easy Glass® Slim were installed in the 7,000 square meter “Open Hybrid LabFactory” facility that is currently under construction in Wolfsburg, Germany.

Q-railing planned and specified the project together with the renowned architects of RKW Architekte + Städtebau in Düsseldorf.

About Easy Glass® Slim

Easy Glass Slim is the economical solution in Q-railing’s range of minimalist glass railing systems, designed for use in light commercial or residential builds. Thanks to its light weight, Easy Glass Slim is easy to manoeuvre on site and its Safety Wedge System gets installation done in no time.

Easy Glass Slim is suitable for glass thicknesses of 12 to 21,52 millimeters and is able to absorb a side force to the glass up to 1 kN. The system offers solutions for top and side mount and for indoor and outdoor use. The aluminium base shoe comes in lengths of 2,5 and 5 meters and is supplied with a stainless steel finish or metal cladding.
