Date: 19 September 2013

With excellent attendance of more than 6.200 attendees and an industry focused on growth, GlassBuild America 2013 was a huge success.

The event is sponsored by the National Glass Association (NGA), the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AA MA), Glass Association of North America (GANA), the Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance (IGMA) and the Bath Enclosure Manufacturers Association (BEMA), and was held September 10 12 in Atlanta, Georgia at Georgia World Congress Center.GlassBuild America’s exhibit floor filled with companies from all over the globe, with 14 countries represented, showing the most innovative and cutting edge glass, window, and door related products on the market today.More than 111,000 square feet of exhibit space was occupied by 364 exhibiting companies. Over half of the 69 first time exhibitors were companies based outside of the United States.

Many exhibitors reported brisk sales and an overall positive attitude towards the event and the glass industry economy in general. “We had great traffic, great people and serious people who were really looking to purchase. So it was a fantastic show to be at,” commented Ric Schmidt, of GLG Canada, a glass handling company.

“We’re thrilled with the outcome of the 2013 event. Seeing and hearing about deals being made all over the floor is truly an exciting proposition and it’s showing that our industry is surely well on the road to recovery after a few challenging economic years,” stated Denise Sheehan, Vice President, Industry Events, National Glass Association.

Preparation for next year’sevent, scheduled for September 9 11, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada, is already underway and many of the exhibitors took advantage of early bird booking for exhibit space for the 2014 event.

“It’sincredibly encouraging how many exhibitors booked space for next year, with many expanding their efforts as well. There’s no doubt the enthusiasm for our event is high and we’re thrilled about it, “ commented Denise Sheehan.
