Pilkington North America Introduces New Blue-Grey Tint

Date: 10 May 2013

Pilkington North America announced the development of graphite blue, a light blue-grey tint that joins its Optifloat™ family of tinted glass.

The new body-tinted solar control glass offers high daylight transmittance with a soft, blue-grey tone.

This tint is the latest addition to the company's High Performance Tint product line that includes Pilkington Arctic Blue, Pilkington EverGreen and Pilkington SuperGrey.

Pilkington Graphite Blue offers flexibility for innovative architectural design where low reflection is required, according to the manufacturer. With high daylight transmittance and energy absorption, it is suitable for any commercial application requiring solar control. To achieve additional thermal insulation, Pilkington Graphite Blue can be combined with Pilkington Energy Advantage low-E glass in an insulating glass unit.

Pilkington Graphite Blue is available in 6 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm thicknesses. It is also offered with the Pilkington Solar-E Plus solar-control pyrolytic coating for enhanced solar and thermal control, reduced glare and low ultraviolet transmittance.
