Our systems complete prestigious Hong Kong development

Date: 4 August 2017

We’ve supplied to a prestigious residential tower block in Hong Kong, underlining the specialist and international nature of the advanced glazing system market.

We supplied our SR60 curtain walling system which was constructed into a three-sided glass corridor for the building’s clubhouse rooftop areas.

The Skypark development, completed in the last few weeks, is situated in the city’s Mongkok district, one of the most densely-populated areas in Hong Kong.

Wrightstyle’s systems form part of the building’s 28th floor clubhouse, called The Aurora, which features social spaces, a gym, bar and swimming pool and, on the floor above, a lawned garden.

The clubhouse is completely walled in glass, providing uninterrupted views over the rooftops of Kowloon.

Wrightstyle systems have recently been specified on several other residential, transport and medical projects in Hong Kong, including façade systems for the city’s Museum of Art, as part of the museum’s ongoing HK$ 960 million refurbishment.

The company also recently supplied a range of internal and external systems for a residential and sports centre development in the city’s Hang Hau district, to a major medical facility, and to the Kowloon Tong transport interchange.

Wrightstyle has international accreditations in Europe, the USA and in the Asia-Pacific region – and has undergone stringent fire testing for, for example, the Architectural Services Department (ASD) of the Hong Kong government.

In addition, Wrightstyle provided curtain walling for Hong Kong’s Langham Place development, which comprises a 53-storey office tower, a 5-star hotel with 665 bedrooms and rooftop swimming pool as well as a 600,000 sq ft shopping mall with 300 shops.

The company’s systems at Langham Place were installed across seven floors, to protect walkways between the main building and the shopping area, an important escape route in the event of fire.

For the Skypark project, all mullions and transoms were designed, fabricated and finished at Wrightstyle’s facilities in Wiltshire, with final assembly undertaken by the company’s trained local teams in Hong Kong.

The systems were also checked, tested and approved for wind and water by city technicians, and to ensure compliance with all local statutory requirements and architect’s designs.

“This contract underlines the highly specialist nature of the advanced glazing system market, and how Wrightstyle has developed an international reputation for the quality and reliability of its products and systems,” said Billy Kung, our sales agent in Hong Kong.
