For.El. was founded in the mid 1970s when flat glass manufacturing was establishing itself as an important part of the building sector.

We have accompanied and worked closely with glass manufacturers as they have grown, developing new ideas and solutions for the high speed production of insulating glass.

Early success was soon realised with the production of machinery that processes glass in the vertical position, greatly improving both the logistics and safety within the production cycle. Subsequent innovative machines have been developed with patented solutions which have characterised For.El, distinguishing it as a leading producer of machinery for processing flat glass. Our evolution continues today with machinery that manufactures automatically and efficiently high performance insulating glass units.   Our lines of equipment are specified to work with sophisticated coated glass products, inert gases and thermal spacers, all of which are essential component parts of today’s modern insulated glass unit. The requirement to offer high performance sealed units with reduced heat loss coefficient is becoming ever more desirable in modern day architecture.  In certain cases, international legislation drives the requirement for the development of energy saving glass products.

Modern building practices want to use the transparency of glass to make the most of natural light and maintain visual contact with the exterior; neither must we forget the growing sensitivity to the use of high energy efficient natural materials or the utilisation of renewable energy sources. The requirement for high performance and high quality finishes has led to the study of new units that are composed of innovative materials: low – e glass, warm edge flexible spacer profile, insulating gas in the air space to improve insulation, sealants and insulation techniques that improve and guarantee the adherence and seal of the unit over the years. Major glass manufacturers throughout the world have invested in machinery for the production of next generation insulated glass due to market forces from the commercial, trade and retail sectors who demand final window products that insulate both thermally and acoustically.

At the forthcoming Glasstec exhibition held in Dusseldorf from 28th September to 1st October (Hall 16 Stand A21) For.El will exhibit our next generation of flat glass processing machinery.  This will include machinery that produces energy efficient insulated glass panels demonstrating For.El’s our unique technological innovation and experience.
