New GEZE Slimchain Scoops Awards for Innovation and Quality

Date: 13 August 2012

A pioneering chain drive from GEZE has been honoured at one of Europe’s most prestigious innovation awards, the annual Plus X Awards in Cologne.

The versatile Slimchain for windows, which is due to be launched in the UK later this year and is suitable for natural ventilation and as a smoke and heat extraction system (RWA), has won Plus X Awards for both ‘High Quality’ and ‘Functionality’.Judged by 130 independent experts, the Plus X Awards celebrate Europe’s most functional, innovative and well-designed products, which reach the highest standards of quality and longevity. In addition to the two category wins, the Slimchain was named ‘Electric chain drive of the year’ and awarded the ‘Best product of the year’ quality seal.

“GEZE’s new control technology makes the Slimchain incredibly flexible,” said GEZE UK’s managing director Andrew Hall. “No two sites are the same, which is why it’s important that products like the Slimchain are adaptable and easy to adjust. These awards are yet further proof that GEZE is successfully combining effectiveness, functionality and style to create the very best products.”

Designed as an ‘all-in-one’ solution, the aesthetically-pleasing, discreet Slimchain has a broad range of application options and is adaptable enough to fulfil diverse requirements relating to loads, upstroke lengths, opening widths and the widest range of types of installation. With the maximum upstroke of 800 millimetres, it achieves a large aerodynamic opening width, meaning that it can also be used in natural smoke and heat extraction devices (SHEVs) in line with EN 12101-2.
