NEG adds additional investments to expand LCD and PDP glass output, says paper

Nippon Electric Glass (NEG) plans to invest an additional 35 billion yen (US$301 million) to expand its TFT LCD glass substrate capacity by 10% before the end of fiscal year 2007 (ending in March 31, 2008), according to a recent report from the Japanese-language Nihon Keizai Shimbun.





Meanwhile, the company also plans to invest 7 billion yen to increase capacity for PDP (plasma display panel)-use glass before the fiscal year of 2008 (ending in March 31, 2009), the paper noted.



The glass supplier is also reducing glass output for CRT TV at its Malaysia facility, added the paper.
