The Autoglass Arena at Messe Düsseldorf’s glasstec trade show welcomed many visitors during the 1st day of The International Master Fitter Competition 2010. 10 participants from 10 different countries, 10 judges from the same countries, 1 chairman of the judges and 1 moderator gathered around brand new vehicles.

The duties on this 30th of September included the repair of a windshield and the dismantling and reinstallation of a backlight.

“All participants are top autoglass technicians in their respective countries” says Matteo Planca, the chairman of the judges. “This is what my colleagues noticed during their judgments as well. Especially at the repair jobs we noted 5 almost ex aequo positions”.

On the 1st of October, the second day of the Competition, participants have to install a door window and a windshield. The Norwegian competitor Bjørn Erik Rognlien will start from pole position. The International Master Fitter Competition 2010 is held in hall 10 C04.
