iPhotonic Corp. and Solar Power Solutions LLC sign partnership agreement to create SPS-iPhotonic LLC, a new joint venture company based in the United Arab Emirates with potential deployment of multiple BIPV production lines in the next 36 months

iPhotonic Corp., manufacturer of Building-Integrated Photovoltaic products (BIPV) and Solar Power Solutions LLC, an SBK Holding Group affiliated company, signed today an agreement establishing a joint venture company based in the United Arab Emirates "SPS - iPhotonic LLC".

The company will initially focus on business development opportunities throughout the Gulf countries before effectuating the manufacturing of the various iPhotonic BIPV products – with the goal of deploying multiple production lines (3-6) within the next 36 months in the Fujairah Free Zone.Sustainable Solutions for Demanding Clients The iPhotonic BIPV products have a high structural resistance, are lab-certified to resist loads up to 546 kg/m2 (112lbs/sqft), have been field tested to resist up to 700 kg/m2 (143lbs/sqft), and are not susceptible to weathering thereby offering superior durability. iPhotonic’s BIPV materials replace conventional building materials and, unlike the latter, provide a real economic advantage: a return on investment (ROI) serving as a source of income to the owner with a pay-back period of less than five years thanks to favorable sunlight conditions and a vibrant local energy policy.Available in a multitude of colors, the iPhotonic product lines are very attractive and allow both creativity and perfect architectural integration. "The elegance and beauty of the materials often guide the architectural choices of our customers. With their unique and innovative features, iPhotonic materials are likely to experience significant success in the Gulf countries, as much for their facade mounting system as for their esplanades coverage" said Dr. Hesham A. Arch Alghani, Chairman of Dimensions Engineering Consultant LLC.

Unique Products: Exclusive Technology

The BIPV materials offered by iPhotonic Corp. are unique because they are based on proprietary ceramic technology invented by LAMINAM, a System Group company based in Fiorano Modenese Italy internationally recognized as a source of innovation in the field of industrial automation. The BIPV panels utilizing a very fine, strong and frameless system, making them particularly applicable to construction in urban areas, and can be used in roof, floor, and façade applications (ventilated facades for example). "As a supplier of iPhotonic Corp., we welcome the establishment of this new structure in the UAE" said Dr Franco Stefani, founder and President of System Group.

A Balanced Business Model: Technical Expertise, Sustainable Development and Regional Roots

iPhotonic’s development model focuses on the creation of joint venture opportunities with local partners, preferable considered leaders in their field of expertise. These regional partnerships are then able to manufacture and commercialize the iPhotonic products within the country or region in which they are based. The construction market in the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf region has grown exponentially in recent years, with a real reflection oriented towards renewable energy and solar in particular. "We were looking for a building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) technology capable of responding to the new standards for Green Building Construction. iPhotonic Copr. offered us not only the technology, but also a business model that would allow us to produce our materials locally.” said Dr Ehab Lotfi, CEO of Solar Power Solutions LLC. "Thanks to its structure and competence in the field of photovoltaic’s, Solar Power Solutions LLC was the ideal partner for our development in the UAE and the Gulf region" concluded Robert Albertella, President of iPhotonic Corp.

Very Favorable Development Prospects

The trending reduction of traditional energy sources (e.g. fossil, nuclear, etc.) as well as new environmental standards; provide the ideal environment for photovoltaic materials. SPS - iPhotonic LLC intends to become a major player for the supply of BIPV materials in the Gulf region. The potential is huge thanks to, among other things, increased urban development and exceptional solar conditions. This agreement is the first step in a collaboration that will develop in the months and years to come, and is a major addition to iPhotonic Corp’s growing partnerships currently under evaluation in other parts of the world.
