Date: 20 July 2012

Autoglass Arena brings together the exhibitors, Auto Glaziers’ Competition and plenary With the Federal Association of Glazier Trades (Bundesinnungsverband des Glaserhandwerks - BIV) in charge of the event, visitors at glasstec 2012 from October 23 to 26, 2012 can expect a broad range covering all aspects of the auto glazing theme in the “autoglass arena” in Hall 10.

Within the framework of the world‘s leading event for the glass industry, and in addition to the ranges shown by companies from the Automotive Glass sector, it is presenting the German and – in cooperation with the International Automotive Glass Federation – also the international glaziers’ competition. In each case the participants will be competing against one another by inserting and removing a front/rear windshield along with repairing flying stone damage. The winner of the national auto glaziers’ competition to determine Germany’s best auto glazer (23./24.10, Tue/Wed) will then represent the nation on the fair Thursday (25.) and Friday (26.) as “Autoglass Champion glasstec 2012” in the “International Master Fitter Competition”, the auto glaziers’ world championship.

A completely new feature in the “autoglass arena” is the Auto Glaziers’ Plenary with a comprehensive range of free lectures and workshops. Along with current know-how for the auto glaziers’ core business, the main themes also cover areas which are concerned with lucrative additional services. The speakers, who come from renowned companies, for example Pilkington Automotive, Innovation Group or the AGM Akademie, will inform the visitors among other things about “classic” auto glaziers’ themes such as “Adhesives in fitting and application”, “Auto glaziers‘ software”, “Trends in vehicle glazing” or “Safety glazing in modern automobile manufacture” and also about the theme areas “Headlight renewal”, “Car-Wrapping”, “Damage management as a strategic success factor”, “Sustainable vehicle fleet management” along with “Bumper repair” and “Spot Repair”.

The “autoglass arena” is open for the entire duration of glasstec from 23 to 26 October 2012 in Hall 10. When purchased in advance as eTickets, the price of the fair tickets ranges from 28 Euro (day-ticket) through to 44 Euro (2-day ticket) up to 69 Euro (season ticket). They are valid as a ticket for travel to and from the event within the area serviced by the Rhine-Ruhr Transport Authority (Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr - VRR) and can be obtained with immediate effect at www.glasstec.de. There you will also find the complete “autoglass arena” plenary programme along with all other information relating to glasstec. Pictograms for the individual target groups at the fair, for example for the crafts and skilled trades, help you find what you are looking for while concentrating on the respective relevant exhibitors’ ranges and features in the support programme.
