glasstec 2008: EK sets new standards in the connection of aluminium profiles

Date: 17 October 2008

Newly developed RS-series improves cost-effectiveness and reliability EDUARD KRONENBERG GmbH – in Solingen - Germany has now extended its EK STEEL Connect product family with a new straight connector series to round off its range with yet another innovation.

The desiccant passage version of the straight connectors that is now available as the “RS“-model has been designed specifically for securing the frame and is made of high-strength, galvanized cold-rolled steel. It features three rows of tabs positioned at different heights along the sides to provide a secure grip within the spacer bar profile and sprung centring.

In addition, the new RS straight connector now makes it even easier to close the spacer bar after bending: as a result of the secure grip on each side, the centring and the centre crease for greater stability, closing is easier and at the same provides a connection with excellent durability and stability. “Its extremely large U shape allows the spacer bar profile to be filled with molecular sieve very quickly,“ says Ralf M. Kronenberg. “Working with our new RS straight connector is thus even more cost-effective.”

EK’s latest innovation is available for all standard aluminium bent profiles in a variety of gap widths. The new RS straight connector will be on display at the glasstec 2008 in the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre.

As a manufacturer operating on a global scale at the forefront of the market for stamped and plastic parts, EDUARD KRONENBERG GmbH provides customers all over the world with standardised and tailor-made solutions.

EK is the only supplier to the insulating glass industry in a position to offer both steel and nylon connectors parts from one source. For the electrical, automotive and fastener industries, and manufacturers in Solingen, EK also offers tailor-made solutions for stamping, bending and plastic technologies.
